Cost effective market penetration of hydrogen technologies to fuel vehicles and prime movers will depend upon our understanding of the hydrogen interaction with its containment materials. to achieve this goal a coordinated approach must be taken by laboratories throughout EUROPE as well as the USA. The data collected will be used to create a data bank that will enable a harmonisation of the activities in the European research area on topics of hydrogen safety and storage.
