A new technology has been developed to produce a rapid genetic test - paving the way for rapid genetic mapping and medical diagnosis. The new technology enables a test to be carried out in 1-2 hours rather than the usual 24 hours, thhis makes the process much cheaper and faster. May lead to increased use of genetic tests before people decide to marry/have a child, to reduce the risk of having a children with genetic diseases.
